I have a BFA in Photography from the University of Florida. In my mind when I first went to The Southeast Center for Photography I was going to become a great adventure photographer for National Geographic. Time and again though I kept turning to my creative side and I realized that I needed to major in art.; so I did. I also had a kid while I was in art school and my dreams of becoming an artist in academia started fading as I pondered the creativity of parenting. I finished my degree and jumped into parenting with both feet (I've been homeschooling for 15 years).

So, here I am, facing the coming empty nest and having more time on my hands and again my focus is shifting. I'm involved in many community endeavors and feel like my "work" is in the community.

Creating is what I love and I will always be making something even if it's not my focus. Hopefully it's something of value and beauty. Hopefully it's another way of giving back to this wonderful world that has given so much.
